Long Trail Hibernator

Submitted by Dan on December 14, 2009 – 11:14 am No Comment

hibernatorFrom Long Trail BrewingA rich and malty, slightly sweet Winter Ale. Skillful use of brown sugar, honey, and six malts contribute to complex, warming character of this brew. Available October through March.

Long Trail Brewing Co. – Long Trail Hibernator – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 6.0% abv. From Ray in MA!

Appearance: Pours a dull, cloudy auburn with a stripe of white suds for head. Leaves spotty lacing.

Aroma: Toast, caramel and fresh savory herbs.

Taste: Bitter Euro hops, bready malt, tart berry twang in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Thick.

Overall: Too bitter for me, and I just wasn’t impressed.
