Lagunitas The Hairy Eyeball
From Lagunitas – Our New Year’s release for the seasoned beer folks … Big, brown warmer with several types of crystal malt. No actual eyeballs can actually be found in the beer.
Lagunitas Brewing Company – The Hairy Eyeball – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 9% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark, translucent red with an off white 1/8 inch frothy head.
Aroma: Light bread and sweetness and a very small whiff of bitter hops.
Taste: Burnt caramel, bitter hops and bready malt.
Mouthfeel: Hot, full bodied and a tad creamy.
Overall: A very enjoyable American Strong Ale, reminds me a lot of Arrogant Bastard Ale.
