Dogfish Head World Wide Stout Vintage 2007
From Dogfish Head – YES! This is the beer you’ve heard so much about. Dark, rich, roasty and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer. Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley. Have one with (or as!) dessert tonight!
Dogfish Head – World Wide Stout Vintage 2007, enjoyed in December 2009 – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 18% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a Belgian ale like fizzy ring of tan at the top.
Aroma: Molasses, bourbon, dark rum, milk chocolate, licorice and roast.
Taste: Dark fruit, molasses, bourbon, dark chocolate, black coffee, licorice and roast.
Mouthfeel: Thick and syrupy.
Overall: Magic. Very warming. Share this 12 oz. bottle with someone. I’ve had this fresh, and now aged, and I’d say after the big boozy bite goes away, you can discern many other flavors going on. Don’t get me wrong, this is still boozy, but much more mellow.
