Hoppy Birthday Bristol Brewing

Bristol Brewing CompanyHoppy Birthday to Us!

Do you know why this week is special? It’s Bristol Brewing Company’s 15th anniversary! On June 10th, 1994, Mike and Amanda Bristol opened the door to a little office-like industrial facility on Forge Road. Two taps stuck out from the drywall, serving Laughing Lab and Red Rocket — flavorful ales that Mike had perfected as a home brewer. A five gallon bucket sat beneath the taps to keep beer from dripping on the carpet. Camden, the Laughing Lab, had just adopted the Bristol family.

he beer was good from the beginning, which we guess is what started the whole idea of opening a brewery in the first place. In fact, Laughing Lab won us our first medal at the Great American Beer Festival that year, and it was off the very first commercially brewed batch. Lab is now the winning-est beer in Colorado — it’s won more medals at the GABF, our industry’s biggest show, than any other Colorado microbrew! Other flavors have joined the line-up, new faces have joined the brewery family. The Bristol clan has grown too, though Camden’s still pretty much in charge, and we’ve gotten to know lots of you great folks. It’s been a good old time, and we’ve even been able to give a little back to the community that’s given so much to us.

So what are we going to do to celebrate? Well, we’ve got a few things up our sleeves for this fall when the festival season starts to wind down and we’ve got more time to play (hint: think special anniversary beer and a fab party!). But in the meantime, we’ll keep brewing beers we love to drink, we’ll keep supporting great causes and cultural events, and we’ll keep making as much time as possible to ride our bikes in Cheyenne Cañon.

Oh yeah, and we’re having a dock sale this Saturday starting at 12:30. It’s the mother of all dock sales. We’ve got dozens of cases of slightly dated beer which we’ll sell for $20 a case, cash only. Come on down, grab a pint of the delicious cask ale we’ll be tapping up right around then and browse the selection. When you’re done, you can relax and celebrate your thriftiness with another pint and a La’au’s taco.

And did we mention we’ve expanded the taco stand hours? By popular demand, La’au’s tacos will now be available Wednesday through Sunday. Click here for a full run-down of the new hours and to see the specials. We’ve got a couple of screamin’ deals for you!

Cheers,

Laura
