(Boulder, CO) – Boulder Beer Company, Colorado’s First Craft Brewery, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Irish Blessing, an Oak-Aged Coffee Stout.
Irish Blessing is a dark coffee Stout brewed with an abundance of black and chocolate malts for a bittersweet chocolate finish, and OZO Coffee for rich roasted coffee notes. The beer is then aged on oak that’s been soaked in Jameson Irish Whiskey. It clocks in at 6.8% ABV and 40 IBU’s. This brand new release will be available exclusively on draft for a limited time.
“We collaborated with our friends and local roasters at OZO Coffee in Boulder to determine the perfect roast to complement our Stout, choosing their OZO Blend to use in the brew, adding earthy, roasted coffee flavors to the beer,” said Tess McFadden, Marketing Director at Boulder Beer Company. “We then age Irish Blessing on Jameson Irish Whiskey soaked oak, imparting the finishing touches of whiskey and wood.”
Stout lovers will be able to hoist an Irish Blessing on draft at great craft beer bars throughout Colorado and select out of state markets where Boulder Beer is sold beginning mid-February. And for our loyal Boulder area friends, Boulder Beer will be throwing down with the collaborators on the beer at the Irish Blessing Release and Countdown to St. Patrick’s Day Party on February 17th at the brewery. Come prepared with your best Irish toasts and jokes for a chance to win cool prizes. First keg taps at 4:00pm.
“The interest in this beer has been so positive, and we haven’t even tapped it yet!” said McFadden. “Beer lovers everywhere have been sending us inquiries via social media and our website, wanting to know when and where they can first try Irish Blessing. All of us at the brewery are so excited for this release to kick off a great 2017.”
